A Roadtrip From Banff To Yoho National Park

I love showing friends around the Rockies; their awe and enthusiasm of the magnitude is refreshing to me! Next to Banff National Park, Yoho National Park is a short drive from Banff and in my opinion, has a lot to offer sightseers looking for dramatic peaks and chasing sunrises.

Johnston Canyon Lower Falls

We started the day in Banff National Park and decide to do a short hike to Johnston Canyons Lower falls. A short drive from Banff, Johnston Canyon’s lower falls is a must-do hike in the area. It’s around 3 hours round trip, which makes it incredibly accessible to any hiking skill level. This waterfall is along the walk and you might miss it! it’s tucked below the trail and requires a mindful eye to spot the trail which diverts to it. Check out the Lower falls checkpoint below!

I love showing friends around the Rockies; their awe and enthusiasm of the magnitude is refreshing to me! A steady stream of tourists flow in and out of this spot during the summer, but we had a miraculous 10 minute opening where we had this place all to ourselves!

Natural Bridge Lower Falls

This nearby natural stone bridge, is right along the road to our sunset destination, Emerald Lake. I always make a stop, since the flow rate of the water changes from season to season. t always blows me away how powerful the flow is. Have a look at how high the water scales up the rock.

Emerald Lake

Emerald Lake is surrounded by a path that wraps around it. With an on-site resort, this destination could warrant a trip in itself. Visiting the lake on a summer day is one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the Canadian Rockies, which are not lacking of breathtaking views. The lake is unexpectedly accessible, given it is only a few kilometres off the TransCanada highway, which sees hundreds of vehicles pass by every day.
